Sony XBR LCD TV Reviews
I find the picture and sound quality very good on the Sony XBR LCD TV, especially on HD sources such as 1080p Blu-Ray. The HDMI and other connections work flawlessly. The controls are well done with easy-to-navigate menus, and all the technology Sony describes adds up to a really good product. Side by side against Samsung or other LCD competitors, I think the Sony XBR LCD TV is clearly the best product.
We compared the Sharp Aquos with the Sony XBR LCD TV and yet again the sharpness and clarity of the Sony outstripped the Sharp. Mind you, this is all subjective. You might very well be satisfied with another brand, but for me I'd never be happy had I bought something else, knowing these Sony XBR LCD TV series were out there.
Last night the Sony XBR TV was placed between two Plasma TVs in the store. The Sony was sharper and had deeper blacks than both of the Plasmas.
I waited more than a year before buying the Sony XBR LCD TV and I'm sorry that I even waited at all. This LCD TV is great and I couldn't be happier. The SONY PS3 style interface to control the set is great and simple to use. The digital picture is so nice, you don't need to go to a more expensive HDTV box.
I have had the Sony XBR LCD TV for almost a month now and all I can say is, (in my best Keanu Reeves voice) WHOA!!! The Sony XBR LCD TV is simply amazing. Blu Ray movies look absolutely gorgeous on this set and the Motionflow technology gives you the feeling of being on the set during filming. It is that clear. I wonder how I've survived this long without HD. The Sony XBR LCD TV automatically sets to whatever source you are watching. Like using a standard dvd player will set the TV to NTSC. HD channels set to 1081i and the PS3 is set at full 1080P. Upconversions look great as well. All in all, the Sony XBR LCD TV is a fantastic set that's worth every penny.
